To Promote Development, Wangjia Town Launches the First Sailing Island-Hopping Route in Zhuanghe City.
At 9 a.m. on July 12, two “Sea Dream” sailboats carrying more than 50 tourists set off from Dongtan Port in Wangjia Town, Zhuanghe City, for their first round-the-island voyage. Along the way, the tourists marveled at famous coastal sights such as the Divine Turtle Gazing into the Sea, the Elephant Drinking Water, the Monkey King Guarding the Sea, and the islands of Double Lions, Well Frog, Yuanbao, and Shoulong. The entire journey lasted 1 hour and 20 minutes, marking the official launch and operation of Zhuanghe City’s first sailboat-based island-hopping tour route.

Along the way, the tourists enjoyed breathtaking coastal scenery, including the iconic landmarks such as the Divine Turtle Reaching Out to the Sea, the Elephant Drinking Water, the Monkey King Guarding the Sea, as well as Shuangshi Island, Jingwa Island, Yuanbao Island, and Shoulong Island. The entire journey took a total of 1 hour and 20 minutes. This also marks the official launch and operation of Zhuanghe City’s first sailboat-based island-hopping tour route.
In recent years, the Party Committee and government of Wangjia Town have been vigorously promoting the “Tourism Plus” strategy, fully tapping into the town’s cultural and tourism resources on the island. Leveraging its superior geographical location and natural marine wonders, they’ve integrated resources to achieve comprehensive tourism development and inject new momentum into the sector, helping Wangjia Town forge a new model of all-inclusive tourism and build a brand-new, holistic tourism landscape for the town. It is understood that previously, tourists visiting Wangjia Town could only take wooden fishing boats to explore the Nine Islands of Haiwang; however, the conditions aboard those boats simply couldn’t meet tourists’ needs. The newly introduced “Dream of the Sea” sailing yacht, by contrast, offers an excellent solution to this developmental bottleneck.
The “Sea Dream” sailboat is a new type of catamaran passenger vessel, measuring 9.95 meters in length and 5.5 meters in width, with a cruising speed of 6 nautical miles per hour. It’s a yacht-style catamaran capable of carrying up to 38 passengers. Compared to sporty sailboats, it offers greater stability and comfort, allowing tourists to enjoy 360-degree panoramic views of the sea and fully appreciate the stunning scenery along the way. The Nine Islands of Haiwang are renowned as “a fairyland on earth” and “a seascape bonsai.” With their breathtaking natural beauty, abundant tourism resources, a naturally formed sculpture park, and a geological museum, these islands are an ideal destination for vacations, summer retreats, sightseeing, adventure-seeking, and exploration. With the official launch of the “Sea Dream” sailboat, Wangjia Town will provide visitors with an exceptional opportunity to closely admire the unique landscapes of the Nine Islands of Haiwang and further immerse themselves in the exquisite beauty of this remarkable archipelago.
The newly launched sailing tour route to the island is a marine sightseeing project jointly operated by the People’s Government of Wangjia Town in Zhuanghe City, Dalian Hai Zhi Meng Marine Passenger Transport Co., Ltd., and Haiwang Jiudao Port Management Co., Ltd., with strong support from the Dalian Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and the People’s Government of Zhuanghe City. The total investment for this project amounts to 5 million yuan. This initiative not only fills the gap in maritime tourism in the Zhuanghe region and accelerates the rapid development of Wangjia Town’s tourism economy, but also adds luster to Zhuanghe City’s efforts to become a demonstration zone for integrated tourism, Dalian’s aspiration to become an “East Asian Cultural Capital,” and its goal of building a world-class cultural and tourism destination and resort paradise.
