Dalian Huanghai Port & Shipping Co., Ltd. was established in 2002 as a Sino-foreign joint venture. In 2017, it was officially recognized by the CPC Committee and the People's Government of Zhuanghe City as a state-owned enterprise directly under the jurisdiction of Zhuanghe City, with the Zhuanghe Municipal State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Bureau serving as the investor. In September 2023, the company’s shareholder was changed to Dalian Beihuanghai Industrial Development Group Co., Ltd., which now holds a 100% stake. The company’s registered capital is 141 million yuan.
II. Principal Business Activities
Dalian Huanghai Port & Shipping Co., Ltd. actively responds to national and regional development strategies, proactively integrates into the Belt and Road Initiative, supports the development and opening-up of the Liaoning Coastal Economic Belt, and deeply participates in the construction of Dalian as an international shipping hub in Northeast Asia. Closely aligned with the functional positioning of “general bulk and breakbulk cargo handling and land-island transportation” outlined in the “Dalian Port Master Plan (2023),” the company seizes policy opportunities to strengthen and complete the supply chain of integrated freight hubs, and continuously promotes infrastructure upgrades and enhances its radiating capabilities.
The company’s core business encompasses cargo handling and warehousing in port areas, roll-on/roll-off passenger and freight transportation between land and islands, urban land transportation, cold-chain warehousing for aquatic products, and related logistics services. The company’s primary business activities include: development, construction, and operational management of ports; passenger and cargo transportation, loading and unloading, storage and stacking, cargo warehousing, transportation services, and information consulting; vessel berthing, tugboat services, and import/export cargo transportation; marine area leasing; urban infrastructure construction; real estate development; establishment of chemical and synthetic fiber product manufacturing projects; aquaculture, procurement, processing, storage, and sales of aquatic products; cultivation, procurement, and sale of seedlings and saplings; domestic general trade, as well as import and export of goods and technologies; agency services for customs declaration, inspection, and verification; domestic and international freight forwarding; and domestic and international ship agency services.
Regional advantages
The company’s location in Zhuanghe boasts significant geographical advantages. Situated in the central part of the northern Yellow Sea along the “V”-shaped coastline between Liaoning Province and Dalian City, it serves as a vital support area for both the Liaoning Coastal Economic Belt and the development of Dalian’s core urban area. It is also the economic center, transportation hub, and logistics center of Liaoning’s northern Yellow Sea Economic Belt. The region enjoys well-developed transportation infrastructure: the Dandong-Dalian and Zhuanggai expressways are connected to the Shenyang-Dalian and Shenyang-Dandong expressways, forming a circular highway network; moreover, the Dandong high-speed railway has integrated Zhuanghe into the national high-speed rail network. The Zhuanghe Port, operated by the company, is a Class-I open port designated by the state and is the closest port along China’s Yellow and Bohai Seas to Japan and South Korea.
