As the peak tourist season approaches, island tourism is gaining increasing popularity, and the “Sea Tour of Dalian”—visiting the Nine Islands of Haiwang—has become a hot new itinerary. Zou Bin, the first secretary dispatched by Dalian Laohutan Scenic Area Development & Management Co., Ltd. to Lintuan Village, Wangjia Town, Zhuanghe City, has leveraged the unique characteristics of island tourism in Wangjia Island Town to break through bottlenecks hindering the thriving development of the tourism industry by pioneering innovative models. By capitalizing on the platform of Laohutan’s 5A-level tourist attraction, he’s showcasing the stunning beauty of the Nine Islands of Haiwang to a wider audience, injecting fresh momentum into rural revitalization.
On July 16, a promotional event for the Haiwang Nine Islands scenic area—featuring the theme “Explore Haiwang Nine Islands and Experience Fishing Village Charm”—along with a seafood promotion, was held in front of the entrance to Dalian Laohutan Ocean Park. On the day of the event, Laohutan Ocean Park showcased stunning views of Haiwang Nine Islands, distributed promotional brochures on-site, and offered free samples of fresh seafood. Oysters, clams, and scallops—brought specially from Wangjia Island for the event—quickly became a culinary hotspot, drawing rave reviews and eager crowds. Visitors repeatedly exclaimed, “These oysters are huge, with rich, tender, and incredibly fresh meat!” At the event, the organizers also introduced popular tourist routes to Haiwang Nine Islands. Members holding annual passes to Laohutan Ocean Park can enjoy free admission to attractions such as the Haiwang Nine Islands International Lighthouse and beachcombing activities, while receiving discounted rates on other attractions like the Dinosaur Museum and sailing tours. It is worth noting that Haiwang Nine Islands, also known as Wangjia Island, consists of nine major islands and is renowned for its beauty, earning titles such as “the Jewel of the Yellow Sea,” “a Maritime Bonsai,” and “a Fairyland on Earth.” The area is designated as a National 4A-level tourist attraction, a national island forest park, a national agricultural tourism demonstration site, a provincial scenic spot, and was recognized as a National Sanitary Town in 2016 and named a National-Level Characteristic Town in 2017.
Since the start of summer, Haiwang Jiudao has entered its peak tourist season. Eco-island tours and fishing-village-themed excursions have left visitors thoroughly enchanted. Wang Bing, Party Secretary of Wangjia Town in Zhuanghe City, told reporters in an interview that Dalian Laohutan Ocean Park—a national 5A-level tourist attraction—has now stepped in to boost the development of Haiwang Jiudao’s tourism industry. This collaboration will greatly enhance the visibility of Haiwang Jiudao and its tourism offerings. Wang Bing noted that although Haiwang Jiudao is like fine wine hidden in a secluded alley, “it remains unknown to the world.” “Going forward, while continuing to advance the rural revitalization strategy, we’ll broaden our horizons, explore new ideas, and intensify our promotional efforts, so that Haiwang Jiudao can become the idyllic paradise that tourists long to visit.”
